Nadal and Alcaraz Lose to Griekspoor and Koolhof in Paris Olympics Doubles Match

Dutch duo claim stunning upset over Spanish favorites

Griekspoor and Koolhof prevailed in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the semifinals of the Olympic tennis tournament.

Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, the top-seeded doubles team in the Paris Olympics, were upset by the Dutch duo of Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof on Saturday. Griekspoor and Koolhof, who are ranked 13th in the world, won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the semifinals.

Nadal and Alcaraz were the favorites heading into the match, but they were unable to find their rhythm against the aggressive play of Griekspoor and Koolhof. The Dutch duo broke Nadal's serve twice in the first set and once in the second set, while Alcaraz was unable to break serve.

"We played well today," said Griekspoor. "We served well and we were able to put pressure on Nadal and Alcaraz from the baseline. We're really happy with the win."

Koolhof added: "We knew that we had to be on top of our game today, and we were. We played our hearts out and it paid off."
